The Central Processing Facility 1 Expansion and Upgrading Project (CPF1EU), Project ID: HFY4-5020, at the Halfaya Oil Field in Maysan Governorate, Iraq, was developed to enhance and increase the crude oil processing capacity of the existing CPF-1 facility. The Halfaya field is operated by PetroChina in partnership with Maysan Oil Company, with major engineering, procurement, and construction works executed by Petrofac. The project aimed to boost production capacity, improve crude oil separation, dehydration, and stabilization processes, and upgrade produced water treatment and water injection systems to support reservoir pressure maintenance and long-term field sustainability. The scope included installation and modification of key process equipment such as separators, pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, pumps, and compressors, in addition to extensive civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works, as well as utilities and offsite systems including flare facilities, substations, power distribution networks, and fire and gas detection systems.
As a company, we contributed to the preparation and development of the integrated project schedule covering Engineering, Procurement, and Construction phases, including Architectural (ARC), Civil (CIV), Mechanical (MEC), Electrical (ELC), and Testing & Commissioning (TST & COM) activities. The schedule was developed to ensure proper sequencing, resource allocation, interface coordination, and alignment with project milestones within a live brownfield operating environment requiring strict HSE control and precise execution planning.
